Yemen’s government army announced Friday that it had carried out 1,392 attacks on Houthi positions over the past 24 hours as part of “Yemen Dawn” operations, thwarting the group’s attempts to retake lost areas in Taiz province.

Army spokesperson Majed al-Nuzaili said the operations included ground and air strikes, claiming that around 620 Houthi fighters had been taken out of the battlefield and nearly 190 military vehicles and pieces of equipment had been destroyed or damaged.

He added that government forces had advanced on the Al-Aqroudh front in Taiz. The figures have not been independently verified.
